Woodturning chunks are large pieces of hardwood that are unusual blocks of wood. These chunks, called woodturning “blanks” or “burl chunks”, are used for woodturning as in bowls, pen blanks, and wood art.
Like our live edge hardwood slabs, our woodturning chunks are selected for their exceptional burl. At Marwood, we offer woodturning chunks for sale to the public in all of the same species samples that we offer live edge hardwood slabs in. Our woodturning chunks are offered wet or kiln-dried.
Woodturning on a lathe using Marwood’s woodturning chunks can produce all sorts of end products including: candlestick holders, baseball bats, table legs, wine glass stems, and bowls.
