Hardwood cookies, also commonly known as end grain disks, are round end slices of the tree rather than the elongated boards attributed to live edge hardwood slabs. Cookies, as we fondly call them, often have their organically circular shape highlighted as patio tables, end tables, night stands, and round coffee tables. Those looking for a functional piece of art that seamlessly brings indoors a touch of the outdoors can accomplish this utilizing the natural beauty that is unique to each hardwood cookie.
ABOUT COOKIES & USAGE DETAILS
The endless variety in shapes, sizes and colors provides endless possibilities for functional works of art. In fact, depending on the circumference of the cookie itself, some hardwood cookies make an elegantly rustic touch when used as wedding or dinner table centerpieces. Some of the hardwood cookies sawed at Marwood Manufacturing are even lightweight enough to mount on walls, opening up an entirely new spectrum of possible uses such as signs, wall art, clocks, and more.

THE PROCESS
While it’s not quite grandma’s kitchen, we like to think our warehouse and kilns bake pretty darn great cookies from scratch. Wood cookies that is. Like our live edge hardwood slabs, the majority of our hardwood cookies are sawed and kiln-dried on-site under the careful watch of our Marwood Manufacturing team.

Our specialists are happy to talk you through the process and discover which species and cookie will make the perfect show piece or blend in seamlessly with your existing design.
Found a cookie you love but you’re worried it’s too thick to suit your project?
No need to worry! Our on-site, 36” wide, belt finish sander planer using 80 grit sandpaper is great for adjusting thicknesses! Between you and me, it’s also great for just knocking a few grueling hours of hand sanding off your project.
Buying multiples and wanting the grain of your cookie to match consistently?
We’ve got ya covered. Our hardwood cookies can be bought in sequence for a more cohesive feel.
